The present paper abstains from analyzing the demographic, economic and socio-political influences on this process and tries to identify the specific factors inherent in the agricultural labour market. It considers opportunities for improving the age structure of agricultural workforce provided by the labour market system, particularly in relation to the supply of workforce, demand for it, unemployment and wage levels. An abductive approach, based on a secondary analysis of quantitative data and the authors' own empirical survey, identifies a set of hypotheses about the relationship between agricultural labour market and the age structure of agricultural workforce. Kim Author-Workplace-Name: HanYang University , Seongdong-gu, Seoul Title: Factors influencing Chinese consumer behavior when buying innovative food products Abstract: This study conceptualizes a model of Chinese consumers' purchase decision for the GM foods by empirically testing the interrelationship among the GM food purchase decision determinants with a multi-attribute model. The purpose of this study is to explore what underlying factors affect the Chinese consumer choice behavior for the GM food. A clear understanding of the determinants of consumers' GM food choice may enable policy makers and marketers to build effective policies and marketing strategies and to establish market position of the GM food. The results show that consumers' perceived concern toward the subjects such as limited information availability, environmental hazard as well as ethical issues of the GM food are strong indicators of consumers' GM food purchase decision. The analysis is based on a questionnaire survey done in 2007 the aim of which was particularly to check the organic food selling strategies, product mix, selling conditions and culture in the particular chain store companies, finally at the end to define strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and possible threats. Following the analysis of the lists of offered products, the authors have determined the so-called chain stores of "good practice". These chain store companies are characterized by a quite wide organic food assortment, a developed sales promotion and they try to co-operate with customers and provide them with the needful information on organic foods. Špička Author-Workplace-Name: Institute of Agricultural Economics and Information, Prague, Czech Republic Title: Farming under environmental restrictions in the Beskyds and White Carpathians Abstract: The paper presents the results of research aimed at the analysis of the viability of agricultural enterprises which farm in less favoured areas and under the environmental restrictions pertaining to protected landscape areas. The target objects of the research were farmers taking care of mountain grasslands (meadows and grazing lands) in two protected landscape areas of the Czech Republic - the Beskyds and White Carpathians. The results are based on the sample survey carried out in 2006 and 2007. The first stage of the survey was devoted to the quality of life and business of farmers. The second stage of the survey concerned the financial condition of the farming businesses. Two statistical methods (analysis of variance, logistic regression) and the financial analysis method were used as analytic tools. The agricultural enterprises farming under environmental restrictions perceive their farming activities as a deal and mission. Farmers also accept restrictions while using the current subsidies. Compared to the farms outside the protected landscape areas, the farms in both protected land areas showed a higher profitability but a lower business activity. The analysis found out that the adverse age structure of farmers is a very important risk factor for rural development.
