Consumers cannot predict ex ante performance of the product based on the credence attributes due to information asymmetry, and they need a signal that they can trust in purchasing a food product with high credence attributes. Consumers are likely to use a brand name as a surrogate of the quality and the safety guarantee in purchasing food products with credence attributes. An effective brand management appears to be a major prerequisite for the creation of superior customer value (i.e. brand equity) and successful positioning of credence goods. This study empirically validates four determinant conceptualization of brand equity for credence goods by utilizing the Latent Variable Structural Equation Modeling (LVSE). Findings support the four factor model of brand equity for credence goods. The main objective of this study is to illustrate how consumers place value on major product cues in making purchasing decision of credence products. The findings show that brand loyalty and attribute based components (i.e. perceived value) appears to have the dominant role in determining a brand's equity. Its objective is to evaluate the development of beef consumption in the market of the Czech Republic, and particularly to identify the factors affecting the level of demand for beef. It refers to the analysis of the development of beef consumption in the Czech Republic depending on its price and costs of the selected kinds of its near substitutes, when their relationships are evaluated through their relationships are evaluated methods of regression and correlation analysis. The paper proves statistically the existence of relations among these crucial factors determining the demand. There are, of course, other factors affecting the position and tendency of a demand curve. It refers, for example, to various tastes, customs, traditions, the degree of urbanization, the possible health benefits or risks, legislation or the expected decline or increase of prices of the particular kinds of meat. All factors mentioned above cannot be, however, included into the analysis because their values are not available and many of them cannot be even quantified. Results of the statistical analysis prove the fundamental role of final consumers in forming the demand for beef, when they are above all affected by prices of beef and its substitutes. In the last 15 years, we have been witnessing to a sharp decline in the number of dairy cows in the Czech Republic. This fact has resulted in certain destabilising factors that have disrupted the stability of the biological system. Breeding dairy cows and its profitability is a function of the conditions for the realisation of milk production. This paper examines these aspects within a complex of factors from the use of milk production to the structure of the decision making process and it classifies and quantifies the individual problems from the perspective of the multi-criteria analysis. The debate is growing on the role of the insurance schemes and on the support provided by the CAP in this field. Therefore, there is a need for the empirical analysis and the tools aimed at providing empirical evidences on this subject. This paper develops an innovative Positive Mathematical Programming model that takes into explicit consideration the risk aversion behaviour. This is used to investigate the implications of participating in the crop revenue insurance scheme. In particular, a quadratic mix integer program has been developed on a small group of crop farms in Italy and it has been used to simulate the impact of changes in the level of the insurance premium. The objective of this paper is to assess the soundness of the proposed approach and to identify its limitations. The obtained results suggest that this could be a useful tool to investigate the impact of participating in insurance schemes on production patterns, farm profitability and the role of public support. Herewith, methods for obtaining the growth business cycle are investigated - the first order difference, the unobserved component models, the regression curves and filtration using the Baxter-King, Christiano-Fitzgerald and Hodrick-Prescott filter. In the case of the time domain, the analysis identification of cycle lengths is based on the dating process of the growth business cycle. Thus, the right and left variant of the naive techniques and the Bry-Boschan algorithm are applied. In the case of the frequency domain, the analysis of the cyclical structure trough spectrum estimate via the periodogram and the autoregressive process are suggested. Results from both domain approaches are compared. On their bases, recommendations for the cyclical structure identification of the growth business cycle of the Czech Republic are formulated. In the time domain analysis, the evaluation of the unity results of detrending techniques from the identification turning point points of view is attached. The analyses are done on the quarterly data of the GDP, the total industry excluding construction, the gross capital formation in 1996-2008 and on the final consumption expenditure in 1995-2008.
