The revealed comparative advantage index is used to analyse the levels and compositions in the export competitiveness by differentiated fruit and vegetable products. Most of the EU-27 member states experienced revealed comparative disadvantages in the fruit and vegetable products in the global markets. Spain and the Netherlands experienced the most robust results of the revealed comparative advantages between 2000 and 2011 and among fruit and vegetable groups of products. Most other of the EU-27 member states with the comparative export advantages in fruit and vegetable products specialized in a certain segment or niche fruit and vegetable products. The aim of the paper is to quantify the effects of the individual subsidies that were used by agricultural enterprises according to their profits, losses and revenues. The size structure of agricultural enterprises in the Czech Republic is taken into account for more detailed measures of the subsidy impact. The article uses key data such as financial statements of agricultural enterprises and subsidies that were received by companies over the years 2007-2011. The analysis was performed by using the fixed effect model. An evaluation of current economic situation of these enterprises including the structure of drawn subsidies was carried out before the analysis. Different impacts of subsidies on the company´s management have been proved. The subsidies influence the medium and large enterprises significantly and positively. A negative impact of subsidies was observed on profits and revenues of small businesses. Detailed results are described in the article. China Title: Asymmetric competition in food industry with product substitutability Abstract: The paper analyses the effects of asymmetric competition on food industry with product substitutability by establishing a two-stage dynamic game model. The equilibrium is captured under both the Cournot competition and Stackelberg competition. Firstly, under the Cournot competition, lower costs yield a higher quality, more outputs and higher profits. Secondly, the cost difference increases the quality difference, the market size difference and the profit difference. Thirdly, a U-shaped relationship between the product substitutability and the food quality exists. Finally, compared with the case under the Cournot competition, the food security is significantly reduced with the lower quality and less outputs in the case under the Stackelberg competition. The study used the Economic Accounts for Agriculture, which enabled the analysis of the economic situation in agriculture according to the uniform standards. The study was based on a system of work profitability indexes and factor analysis. The research proved that during the post-accession period (2004-2014), in the average work profitability in agriculture increased in the real terms by 6.69% per annum in the Czech Republic and by 5.66% per annum in Poland. As results from the factor analysis, favourable changes in the work profitability in the agricultural sector in the Czech Republic were chiefly caused by an increase in subsidies, a higher productivity and depreciation costs. On the other hand, the increased productivity and subsidies were the main causes of favourable changes in the work profitability in the agricultural sector in Poland.
