Aims & Scope

Original results of basic and applied research from all fields of forestry related to European forest ecosystems and their functions including those in the landscape and wood production chain are published in original scientific papers, short communications and review articles. Papers are published in English.

New Editor-in-Chief welcome on board!

We are pleased to announce that Prof. Ing. Vilém Podrázský, CSc. has accepted our invitation to serve as an Editor-in-chief of the journal starting January 2020. 
Prof. Podrázský specialises in silviculture, introduced species, forest soil science, humus forms and forest ecology. Prof. Podrázský is currently the currently  the Deputy Chairman of the CAAS Board, the Chairman of the Department of Forestry of the CAAS.  Prof. Podrázský is head of the Department of Silviculture, Faculty of Forestry and Wood Management, Czech University of Life Sciences Prague, Czech Republic.
The journal would like to thank doc. Slodičák, for outstanding work for the journal. Doc. Slodičák has skillfully edited the journal from 2011 through 2019.


We are pleased to announce, that the Journal of Forest Science joined the Emerging Sources Citation Index of the Web of Science (August 2019)!

The recent issues articles are now available in the Core Collection of the Web of Science.
